The Punjab government has initiated the School Teacher Internship (STI) Program, announcing 12,500 internship opportunities for young, qualified individuals interested in building a teaching career.
According to the School Education Department, the program is designed to bridge the gap between education and practical classroom experience. It enables educated youth to gain hands-on exposure to teaching environments while addressing the shortage of subject specialists and IT instructors in schools.
The Chief Minister and the provincial cabinet have approved the recruitment drive, which will deploy interns to primary, elementary, high, and higher secondary schools across Punjab.
Officials noted that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving education quality and providing employment opportunities for the youth, contributing to both professional development and enhanced learning outcomes in the province.
