The Sindhi Language Authority, in collaboration with the Sindh Government, has decided to establish Language Learning Centers in every district of Sindh. A high-level committee will also be formed to monitor the teaching process and standards of various subjects, including Sindhi, in private schools.
These decisions were made in a meeting chaired by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah in Karachi, at the requisition of the Sindhi Language Authority. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Sindhi Language Authority Dr. Ishaq Samejo, Director of STEDA Syed Rasool Bux Shah, and Head of the Private Schools Directorate Rafia Malah. Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah assured full cooperation and assistance, promising that the Education Department will provide specific locations in each district. Additionally, the Sindh Teachers Education Development Authority (STEDA) will assist in teacher training.
Professional training will be provided to private teachers for teaching Sindhi at the new centers, aiming to improve the standard of Sindhi language instruction in private schools. The meeting also decided to enhance the standard of Urdu teaching with support from institutions dedicated to the upliftment of the Urdu language. A high-level committee will be established to check the educational standards of various subjects, including Sindhi and Urdu, and to address issues related to students and teachers.
The Central Directorate of Private Schools will serve as a liaison between private schools throughout Sindh and the Sindhi Language Authority. Secretary Education Department Zahid Ali Abbassi, Director General of Private Institutes Rafia Malah, Executive Director of STEDA Syed Rasool Bux Shah, and other officials were also present at the meeting.
