Pakistan Railways has introduced a 50% concession on rail fares for persons with disabilities (PWDs) traveling on all express and passenger trains, except the Green Line. This initiative aims to make railway services more accessible and affordable for PWDs.
To avail the discount, passengers must present their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) with the disability logo. The offer also extends to attendants accompanying visually impaired travelers.
Additional facilities include wheelchair availability at major stations, special reservation counters, and free access to executive washrooms. Plans are underway to upgrade 12 major stations with dedicated facilities to further enhance comfort and accessibility for PWDs.
