Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her deep admiration for students who have excelled academically, bringing pride to the nation. She made these remarks during a special ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s House to honor top achievers from across Punjab.
In a touching gesture, the students were given a guard of honour by a Punjab Police contingent, marking the occasion with respect and recognition. The chief minister’s arrival was met with enthusiastic applause from the students.
During her address, Maryam Nawaz revealed that witnessing the students receive the guard of honour moved her to tears. Despite enduring hardships and legal challenges, including time in jail, she stated that the pride she felt in the students’ achievements was overwhelming.
The chief minister announced the launch of a significant scholarship program with a budget of Rs25 billion, alongside the revival of the laptop scheme to support students in their academic pursuits.
Additionally, she announced that 61 buses would be provided to tehsils lacking transport facilities.
Maryam Nawaz also presented cash prizes totaling Rs58.6 million and certificates of appreciation to 138 position holders from nine educational boards in Punjab, along with their teachers, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
