The National Database and Registration Authority has announced the establishment of a new NADRA Mega Centre in Karachi, aiming to improve access to identity registration services for millions of residents in the city. The new facility is expected to significantly enhance public service delivery and reduce congestion at existing NADRA centres.
According to officials, the mega centre will be constructed in Model Colony in collaboration with the local town administration. The initiative is part of NADRA’s broader plan to expand its service infrastructure in Pakistan’s largest metropolitan city, where demand for identity documentation services continues to grow due to the rapidly increasing population.
The upcoming centre is expected to serve approximately six million residents from surrounding districts, particularly Malir District and Korangi District. These areas have experienced significant population growth in recent years, leading to increased demand for services such as Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), child registration certificates (B-Forms), family registration certificates, and other official documentation.
Officials stated that the new NADRA Mega Centre will feature around 30 service counters, allowing authorities to process a large number of applications efficiently. Once operational, the facility is expected to serve over 3,000 citizens per day, making it one of the largest identity service centres in the city.
The mega centre will offer a wide range of services including new CNIC issuance, renewal of identity cards, B-Form registration for children, family registration services, biometric verification, and arms licence processing. By providing multiple services under one roof, the centre will help reduce the burden on existing NADRA offices and improve convenience for citizens.
Authorities have indicated that the construction and operational setup of the facility could take approximately eight months, while full operational capacity may be achieved within a year. The project represents an important step toward modernizing identity management services and ensuring that citizens can access essential documentation more efficiently.
In addition to expanding physical infrastructure, NADRA continues to enhance its digital systems and security frameworks to safeguard citizen data. Modern biometric technology, secure databases, and digital verification systems are being integrated into new facilities to ensure that services remain both efficient and secure.
The establishment of the new mega centre also reflects the government’s broader efforts to improve public service delivery across major urban centres. By increasing the number of service counters and introducing modern facilities, authorities aim to reduce waiting times and provide faster, more reliable services for citizens.
For residents of Karachi—especially those living in Malir and Korangi—the new NADRA Mega Centre is expected to provide significant relief by bringing essential identity services closer to their communities. As the city continues to grow, such infrastructure projects will play an important role in ensuring that public services keep pace with the needs of the population.
Overall, the launch of this new facility highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s administrative infrastructure while making government services more accessible, efficient, and citizen-friendly.
