Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced an increase in financial assistance for special persons in Punjab, raising the amount from Rs75,000 to Rs10,000 for the 65,000 registered special persons. During a ceremony on Wednesday, she also announced the phased implementation of the Himmat Card scheme.
Eligibility:
The Himmat Card will be available only to those who hold special persons certificates issued by the district or tehsil authorities. The financial assistance will be transferred to eligible individuals’ accounts every three months.
However, individuals receiving financial aid from any other government agency, including the Benazir Income Support Program, will not be eligible for the Himmat Card.
Himmat Card Bank Details:
The Bank of Punjab (BoP) has been designated as the financial service provider for the Himmat Card scheme, with services valued at Rs80.17 million. The Social Welfare Department will provide the necessary data of eligible individuals to the Bank of Punjab.
It is important to note that the financial assistance must be withdrawn within 180 days of the transfer, or the funds will be returned to the government.
The Planning & Development (P&D) Department has allocated Rs658.1 million for the successful implementation of the Himmat Card project.
