The Divisional Development Working Party has sanctioned nine road projects valued at Rs 960 million in the districts of Bhakkar and Khushab. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Commissioner Sargodha Division, Jahanzeb Awan, on Wednesday.
The approved projects include seven road construction and repair schemes for Bhakkar, with an estimated cost of Rs 715 million, and two schemes for Khushab, costing Rs 250 million. It was noted in the meeting that full funds for all the projects have been released, ensuring their completion within this year.
Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan highlighted the importance of deputy commissioners personally overseeing the progress of all development schemes to guarantee their sustainability and quality. He instructed that contractors must strictly adhere to the approved scope of work, warning that any deviation would not be tolerated. Additionally, a third-party audit will be conducted for all the projects to ensure transparency.
Jahanzeb Awan emphasized zero tolerance for any form of corruption in public welfare development initiatives. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Director Development Bilal Hassan, SE Building, SE Local Government, SE Public Health Engineering, XEN Highways, and Deputy Director Technical. Deputy Commissioners of Khushab, Sarwash Fatima Shirazi, and Bhakkar, Ali Akbar Bhander, participated via video link.
