The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is planning to recruit 17,000 new teachers in the province to fill the long list of vacancies in boys’ schools and girls’ schools, which have been left open post retirement and promotion.
Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Faisal Khan Tarakai stated that the KPK has revised its teacher recruitment policies as a meeting to review those policies was recently held. Special Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education Qaiser Alam and Director IT Salahuddin were among the top officials who attended the meeting. Such administrative focus on the country’s educational sector reforms will benefit.
In his statement, Minister Tarakai also added that filling these vacancies for quality education is still at the top of the priority list of the government. He further added that authorities are working to find teachers who are on extended leave, working abroad, or on deputation in other departments and ensure they return to their positions in local schools as soon as possible.
This drive is likely to enhance the quality and supply of educational research in KPK, especially in underserved areas, renewedly focusing on the students’ learning and development.
