Anticipated for December 15, a significant drop in fuel prices is expected in Pakistan, with projections suggesting a decrease of up to Rs. 15 per liter. Initial estimates indicate a potential Rs. 15 reduction for High-Speed Diesel and Rs. 13 per liter for MS Petrol.
Pending international market stability, the forthcoming fortnightly prices, effective from December 15, 2023, could potentially see local petrol and diesel rates declining to approximately Rs. 268-269 and Rs. 274-275 per liter, respectively. The expected reduction is attributed to the favorable trend in global fuel prices since the previous domestic fuel price review.
Triggered by a $5.49 decrease in international fuel product prices, the local petrol price is projected to decrease by Rs. 13, while diesel may see a reduction of Rs. 15 per liter, effective from December 16. In the last review on November 30, petrol maintained its rate at Rs. 281.34 per liter, while diesel experienced a Rs. 7 reduction, settling at Rs. 289.71 per liter. Notably, during the recent fortnightly review, ex-refinery and ex-depot prices of petroleum products remained relatively stable.
