State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLIC), the country’s leading life and health insurance provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Pink Pakistan, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of women. This collaboration reflects their shared commitment to tackling pressing issues related to women’s health and welfare in Pakistan.
The partnership’s primary focus is on raising awareness about women’s health and providing financial support through SLIC’s Sinf-e-Aahan Cancer Protection Plan. It recognizes the multifaceted challenges that women in Pakistan encounter, particularly in terms of healthcare and financial security.
Cancer poses a significant threat to women’s lives and imposes substantial financial burdens, especially in developing nations like Pakistan. This partnership aims to address these issues. Shoaib Javed Hussain, CEO of SLIC, stressed that the initiative aligns with global efforts to promote gender equity in healthcare. He believes this partnership can make a substantial difference in the lives of Pakistani women by ensuring access to healthcare and financial protection during difficult times.
Zubaida Qazi, President of Pink Pakistan, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing their commitment to improving the lives of women nationwide. She highlighted the far-reaching impact of cancer, not only affecting the individual but also their families and communities. Through this partnership, they hope to empower women with knowledge about cancer prevention, early detection, and access to healthcare resources.
Increasing awareness of cancer risk factors and symptoms among women is a crucial aspect of addressing female cancer-related challenges in Pakistan. SLIC and Pink Pakistan plan to achieve this by organizing seminars, with the first one scheduled to take place at the State Life Principal Office in October. This effort aims to reduce the burden of cancer and create a healthier and more secure future for women in Pakistan.
