LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced the T-Card, a unified and cashless travel card designed for seamless commuting on both Metrobus and Orange Line train services.
According to the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA), the T-Card forms part of the province’s broader e-Transit program, aimed at digitizing public services, streamlining payments, and enhancing commuter convenience.
The rollout will gradually replace the existing token system, with public awareness campaigns planned to ensure a smooth transition. Officials have urged commuters to adopt the T-Card promptly to avoid potential service disruptions.
With the new system, passengers can use a single card across Metrobus and Orange Line services, removing the need for separate tokens or RFID cards. The initiative is expected to reduce queues, cut waiting times, and offer a modern travel experience for daily commuters.
Getting a T-Card is quick and easy. Passengers can apply through the e-Transit Punjab website, the official mobile app, or by calling the helpline 1762, where agents will assist with registration.
This upgrade marks another step in Punjab’s efforts to modernize public transport and encourage digital adoption among the province’s growing commuter base.
