The Punjab government has launched an interest-free loan program for livestock farmers, offering financial assistance of up to Rs. 270,000. A total of Rs. 11 billion has been allocated for this initiative.
Dr. Muhammad Tanveer Kalyar, Deputy Director of Livestock and Dairy Development in Sargodha, explained that the loans, ranging from Rs. 135,000 to Rs. 270,000, would be provided for four months to cattle owners who meet specific criteria, including having a valid CNIC, an active mobile phone SIM, and owning five to ten male calves.
