Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given approval for the construction of three new road corridors, totaling 450 kilometers. The approval was granted during a special meeting in Lahore.
CM Maryam Nawaz mentioned that these corridors will connect major cities, facilitating public transportation and fostering economic development in the region.
The project, which will be completed by December this year, will cost Rs210 billion and will be funded in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Punjab.
The project includes:
- A dual carriageway from Sahiwal to Chichawatni, and Rajana to Layyah.
- Upgrading the single road from Depalpur to Vehari into a dual carriageway.
- Building a new dual carriageway from Shorkot to Jhang Chiragwali.
