In a time of national crisis, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), together with Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs), has stepped forward to support communities affected by the devastating floods.
To keep people connected during these difficult times, CMOs are providing free on-net voice calls (same-network calls) for subscribers in flood-hit areas. This facility is available even for those with zero balance, ensuring uninterrupted communication with families and emergency services.
PTA also confirmed that more than 72% of damaged telecom sites have already been restored, while efforts are underway to bring the remaining sites back online at the earliest. The authority continues to work in close coordination with CMOs to ensure seamless services in disaster-struck regions.
Recognizing the commitment of operators, PTA has appreciated the timely support provided by CMOs in extending relief to telecom users. The authority reaffirmed its mission to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and promised to provide regular updates as the situation improves.
This joint initiative underscores how digital infrastructure and connectivity remain vital lifelines for people during natural disasters, offering both reassurance and critical access to emergency help.
