In a generous move, the Workers Welfare Board of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced that 17 workers from different sectors will be sent to perform Hajj this year, with all expenses covered by the provincial government. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the hardworking labor force of the province.
Government to Fund Hajj Journey
The KP government will bear the full cost of the pilgrimage, totaling Rs18.79 million. This significant gesture ensures that workers have the opportunity to fulfill their religious duties without financial burden.
Ongoing Support for Workers and Families
Apart from sponsoring the Hajj pilgrimage, the Workers Welfare Board has also focused on other welfare programs for workers and their families. The board has allocated Rs627.5 million for the higher education of 1,578 children of workers, Rs131 million for 341 marriage grants, and Rs30 million for 44 death grants, highlighting its continuous efforts to improve the lives of KP’s labor community.
