Two teams from the Pakistan snooker contingent have advanced to the last 16 stage of the World Team Snooker Championship in Doha, Qatar. Both Pakistan 1 and Pakistan 2 secured the top spots in their respective groups, winning three consecutive matches each.
Comprising Mohammad Sajjad and Babar Masih, Pakistan 1 triumphed over the Republic of Ireland 3-2. Despite losing the 1st frame, they staged a comeback, securing victory with a decisive win in the 5th frame.
Following their success against Ireland, Pakistan 1 faced Egypt and emerged victorious with a 3-1 score. Meanwhile, Pakistan 2, represented by Ahsan Ramzan and Naseem Akhtar, secured wins against Germany, UAE, and Sweden, all with a 3-1 or 3-0 margin.
The last-16 stage matches are scheduled for today (Saturday) at La Maison Hotel, Doha, Qatar.
