The interim Federal Minister of Commerce and Industries, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, announced a significant milestone in Pakistan’s agricultural exports to China with the first shipment of dried chillies.
Facilitated by Litong Food Co. Ltd., this achievement signifies a transformative phase in the trade relationship between Pakistan and China, with the minister acknowledging the crucial support of the Chinese government in creating a substantial market for Pakistani goods.
Dr. Ejaz expressed optimism about the potential for Pakistan’s exports to China to surpass $20 billion in the coming years but stressed the need for concerted efforts from Pakistani agricultural exporters. He urged them to maintain high-quality standards, enhance productivity, and implement effective marketing strategies to meet the expectations of the Chinese market.
Recognizing the vital role of Chinese companies in this process, the minister emphasized collaboration and expressed confidence that if Pakistani companies meet the set standards, exports can experience significant growth.
He congratulated various government entities, including the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, and the Mission in China, for their dedicated work in finalizing protocols and compliance formalities within a short span of four months.
