A touching moment occurred when Pakistani student Azeem, along with 11 other Asian international students, joined forces with two well-known singers and eight Chinese Winter Olympic champions, world champions, and national champions to sing the original song of the 9th Asian Winter Games, “One Heart, One Dream,” on the occasion of the 300-day countdown to the much-anticipated 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025, held on April 13 at Harbin Grand Theater.
The song is a potent expression with a lovely tune and meaningful lyrics that capture the brotherhood and solidarity of Asian people as well as the tenacity and perseverance of athletes pursuing their goals. The song gets much more powerful and poignant when performed by Azeem and the international pupils.
Azeem was invited to take part in the countdown ceremony as a representative of Pakistani youth. Azeem is a master’s student at Heilongjiang University in Harbin. His involvement proved the Asian Winter Games’ inclusiveness while also highlighting the close relations between China and Pakistan.
Following the performance, Azeem said, “It is a great honor and pride to be a part of this event,” expressing his excitement and gratitude. I have formed a close bond with the Chinese Olympic heroes through our singing, and I have witnessed the solidarity and togetherness among the people of Asia.
I hope Pakistani sportsmen compete, and I think we will see even more thrilling events and make even more wonderful experiences with each other at the upcoming Asian Winter Games in 2025.
The countdown ceremony served as a perfect introduction to the 2018 Asian Winter Games, which will feature competition in a range of winter sports between participants from Asia. Following the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022, China will host another significant international ice and snow event, the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin in 2025. From February 7 to February 14, 2025, in Harbin, Heilongjiang, the tournament will take place. There will be six main events, eleven subsidiary events, and sixty-four minor events in all.
