Pakistan has the highest happiness rate among its neighbors, which includes Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. Pakistan is placed 108th out of 143 countries in the World Happiness Report, which was produced by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Pakistan’s happiness index is ahead of archrival India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The rankings were determined using four criteria: health, life expectancy, freedom, and corruption. The poll had 1000 respondents and used a rate range of 0 to 10, known as the Cantril ladder.
However, Pakistan has dropped five positions, from 103 in 2023 to 108 in 2024. According to the criteria, Pakistan received a score of 4.6 out of 10. The research emphasized the importance of policymakers focusing on improving the quality of life for Pakistanis.
According to the research, Finland is the happiest country in the world, while Afghanistan ranks bottom. Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden took second, third, and fourth places, respectively.
On the other hand, the United States and Germany have dropped out of the top 20, now ranking 23rd and 24th, respectively. The world’s top ten happiest countries in 2024 are Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Australia.
