According to News, citing the military’s media wing, a Pakistan Navy destroyer recently conducted a rescue operation, saving eight Iranian fisherman from a burning boat in the open sea.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the distress call from the fishermen’s boat prompted the Pakistan Navy’s PNS Yarmook to arrive quickly to the site. The navy successfully rescued all eight Iranian fisherman from the blazing boat and used advanced technology to extinguish the fire.
The ISPR lauded the Pakistan Navy’s skills, citing a successful rescue operation in the wide sea as proof of its capacity to manage obstacles in maritime situations.
“The timely and successful rescue operation was an expression of Pakistan Navy’s determination to ensure the safety of human life at sea,” the statement said.
Iran hails swift action by PN. Reza Amiri Moghadam, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by Pakistan.
“I would like to wholeheartedly appreciate Pakistan Navy for responding actively and conscientiously to the distress call of assistance from an Iranian fishing boat caught in an uncontrollable fire in the open sea and safely rescuing eight Iranian fishermen,” the prime minister said in a statement.
“Iran and Pakistan have close mutual support and cooperation in rescue and humanitarian assistance missions in international waters due to their alertness and professionalism, as demonstrated this time by the Pakistan Navy. Iran and Pakistan have always been committed to supporting each other in difficult times throughout their history,” he added.
