According to data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), car sales in the country soared by 137.91% in June 2024 compared to the same month the previous year.
The sale of cars spiked to 10,128 units in June 2024, up from 4,257 units in June 2023.
However, for the fiscal year 2023-24 (July-June), overall car sales dropped by 15.63% compared to the previous fiscal year, totaling 81,677 units compared to 96,811 units.
Breakdown figures revealed that sales of Honda Civic and City combined totaled 11,501 units, down from 12,823 units in the previous fiscal year.
Sales of Toyota Corolla and Yaris declined by 13.44% to 16,305 units from 18,838 units last year.
Suzuki Swift sales decreased by 40.38% to 5,567 units from 9,338 units previously.
During the fiscal year under review, Suzuki Cultus sales dropped to 3,689 units from 6,956 units, and Suzuki WagonR sales declined to 3,595 units from 5,434 units.
However, Suzuki Alto’s sales saw a slight increase of 1.42%, rising from 35,379 units to 35,883 units. Sales of Suzuki Bolan decreased to 2,774 units from 4,447 units last year.
