Pakistan has secured the 17th spot globally in the World Giving Report 2025, marking a proud moment for the nation in terms of generosity and compassion.
Key Highlights from the Report:
- 1.64% of income donated by Pakistanis overall
- 34% of population donated via religious routes
- 16% contributed to aid/disaster relief
- 16% volunteered their time, averaging 3.5 hours per person
- Top trust score: 10.4/15 in charities
- 11.3/15 on the importance of charities to society
- Ranked high for direct giving to individuals in need
“Despite economic challenges, Pakistanis continue to give generously—not just in money, but through time and compassion,” said Shazia Maqsood Amjad, Executive Director of Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP).
The report by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), UK, recognizes Pakistan’s deep-rooted culture of Zakat, community support, and volunteerism, making it a model for philanthropic resilience in developing nations.
Breakdown of Donations (% of Income):
- Charity donations: 0.55%
- Direct aid to people: 0.75%
- Religious giving (Zakat/Sadaqah): 0.34%
The PCP aims to further strengthen Pakistan’s charitable ecosystem through research, certification, and cross-sector partnerships.
