In a progressive step toward modernizing Pakistan’s law enforcement and improving public access to justice, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Online Women Police Station and the 1Info mobile application during his visit to the Islamabad Safe City Headquarters on Sunday.
Dedicated Platform for Women’s Safety
The newly launched Online Women Police Station is specifically designed to address complaints from women. It operates through the 1815 helpline and is fully staffed by female personnel—including call operators, first responders, and investigation officers—ensuring a safe, sensitive, and responsive environment for female complainants.
This platform reflects the government’s commitment to gender-sensitive policing and access to justice through technology.
Digital Innovation with the 1Info App
The 1Info mobile application enables citizens to submit emergency complaints directly via their smartphones, reducing response time and making law enforcement more accessible. The app represents a broader digital transformation in policing, providing quick access to services for all citizens.
Minister Naqvi praised Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Nasir Rizvi and his team for their citizen-focused approach and technological innovation.
Expanding AI and Digital Security
While touring the Safe City Headquarters, Minister Naqvi examined Islamabad’s digital surveillance systems and emphasized the need to expand the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in policing. He stated that the goal is to make Islamabad the safest city in Pakistan, powered by real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making.
He further proposed integrating Safe City projects across provinces to enable better inter-city coordination and real-time information sharing, highlighting the importance of unified national security infrastructure.
Inclusive and Technology-Driven Governance
Minister Naqvi urged the development of more inclusive digital platforms, especially those catering to women and other vulnerable groups, to ensure that modern policing serves all segments of society effectively.
These initiatives align with the government’s broader vision of technology-enabled, community-focused law enforcement, and signify a strong commitment to enhancing public safety, accountability, and digital governance in Pakistan.
