The e-Khidmat Markaz at Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) has launched the Driving Test Service as part of the Online Driving License initiative, a collaborative effort between Punjab Traffic Police and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
This pilot project aims to streamline the driving license issuance process in the province, with plans to expand the service to all e-Khidmat Marakiz in Punjab. The introduction of the Driving Test Service at ASTP marks the initial phase of this comprehensive plan, with a meeting held to ensure seamless integration into the existing e-Khidmat framework.
The online facilities introduced by the caretaker government, including the recent option to renew learner’s permits online, aim to reduce rush at Facilitation Centers by 90%. Additionally, higher driving license fees have been implemented, with citizens now able to obtain car and motorcycle learner’s permits for Rs. 500 for up to five years, as announced by Lahore Traffic Police. These initiatives collectively contribute to the digitization and efficiency of the driving license process in Punjab.
