Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed announced that Karachi has been incorporated into the Road to Makkah project to facilitate pilgrims’ journey. This was discussed during a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki and Muslim World League Regional Director Saad bin Masood Al-Harsi, focusing on future Hajj arrangements and mutual interests.
Minister Aneeq expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing cooperation and support in Hajj arrangements and highlighted improved facilities for Pakistani pilgrims. Karachi’s inclusion in the Road to Makkah project will streamline immigration and customs processes for pilgrims departing from the city, making their journey to Saudi Arabia more efficient.
He also emphasized the establishment of a Seerat Museum in Islamabad, with the foundation stone set to be laid by Muslim World League Secretary-General Sheikh Dr Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa on November 15. Saudi Ambassador Al-Malki assured further improvements in facilities for future Hajj pilgrims, underscoring Pakistan’s exclusive participation in the Road to Makkah project, which currently involves only seven countries worldwide.
Muslim World League Regional Director Saad bin Masood Al-Harsi shared details about the forthcoming construction of the Seerat Museum in Islamabad, spanning 8,000 square meters, highlighting the importance of timely construction activities set to begin next month.
