Fatima, the daughter-in-law of a former Inspector General of Police Punjab, has been appointed as the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Rawalpindi, making her the first woman to hold this position since the establishment of the City Traffic Police in 2007. She is also the third woman in Punjab’s history to assume the CTO role, following Ammara Athar in Lahore and Aisha Butt in Gujranwala.
The outgoing CTO, Taimoor Khan, who served since November 18, 2022, was given a warm farewell with traffic wardens showering him with flowers. During his tenure, Khan introduced several reforms, including new traffic police-run driving schools and additional learner and licensing centers.
