Twenty-nine large photos of Pakistan’s exotic wildlife, captured by Wildlife Ambassador and former senator Sardar Muhammad Jamal Khan Leghari, will be displayed at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) starting Monday. The exhibition is organized by the Snow Leopard Foundation and Devcom-Pakistan in collaboration with PNCA.
A formal ceremony as part of the Pakistan Wildlife Protection Awards on July 31 will honor this exhibition, recognizing wildlife guards, watchers, and rangers for their dedication to protecting Pakistan’s wildlife.
Dr. Muhammad Ali Nawaz, Director and CEO of the Snow Leopard Foundation, expressed excitement about the collaboration, noting that the photos highlight both the splendor of wildlife and the need for conservation. Munir Ahmed, Devcom-Pakistan Executive Director and curator of the exhibition, emphasized the goal of showcasing Pakistan’s rich biodiversity.
The event offers nature enthusiasts, photographers, and the public a chance to appreciate Pakistan’s wildlife. Munir Ahmed added that the exhibition celebrates biodiversity and the efforts of those protecting it.
Sardar Muhammad Jamal Khan Leghari, the honorary Wildlife Ambassador of Pakistan, described his photography as a personal mission to raise environmental awareness. He has traveled across Pakistan to capture wildlife in their natural habitats, from the Himalayas to Balochistan. His photographs aim to inspire viewers to appreciate and protect nature.
Leghari’s work serves as a visual narrative of the balance between humans and nature, advocating for conservation. His dedication is not just about photography but also about education and preservation of Pakistan’s wildlife heritage.
