Divisional Commissioner Sukkur, Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, announced on Friday the upcoming launch of Rescue 1122 Satellite Stations in Khairpur and Ghotki districts. This expansion aims to enhance the organization’s response capabilities and ensure timely assistance during emergencies. Abbasi made this statement during his visit to the Rescue 1122 Sukkur Station while evaluating preparations for monsoon emergencies.
Abbasi highlighted that Rescue 1122 is a crucial initiative of the Sindh government. While the Sukkur station currently serves the division and has responsibilities for Khairpur and Ghotki, the new satellite stations will be operational within the next month. This development will strengthen the presence of Rescue 1122, providing swift and effective emergency response services to the communities.
The staff hiring process for these new areas has been completed, and the selected personnel are undergoing necessary training. Abbasi instructed the Rescue Service In-charge in Sukkur to maintain high alertness, deploy staff in three shifts, and ensure 24/7 availability during the monsoon season.
Muhammad Awais, In-charge of Rescue 1122 Sukkur, briefed on their preparedness and capabilities. The Sukkur station has over 50 trained staff, including firefighters and paramedics. The fleet includes modern machinery and equipment such as a Recovery Vehicle, an Urban Search Vehicle, a Water Rescue Vehicle, and an Ambulance. Additionally, they have 6 boats, 60 life jackets, and 10 life rings available.
