Islamabad, December 14, 2025 : Google Developer Group (GDG) Islamabad successfully organized DevFest Islamabad 2025 at Ramada Islamabad, bringing together over 300 participants from across Pakistan. The event gathered developers, entrepreneurs, students, technology professionals, media representatives, and government officials to discuss the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Google technologies, and digital innovation in Pakistan.
The conference focused on critical themes including AI trust, security, productivity, and responsible adoption, addressing key challenges and opportunities within Pakistan’s rapidly expanding digital ecosystem.
Government Emphasizes Collaboration and Digital Upskilling
The event was attended by Mr. Zarrar Hasham Khan, Secretary IT & Telecommunication (MoITT), as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of community-led platforms such as DevFest in enabling meaningful engagement between the government and the technology sector. He highlighted ongoing federal and provincial initiatives aimed at upskilling the workforce, strengthening industry-academia linkages, and preparing Pakistan for emerging technologies and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

DevFest Islamabad 2025 commenced with opening remarks by GDG Islamabad Co-Managers Sarwat Rizvi, Muhammad Umar Nazir, and Ali Naqi Rizvi, who acknowledged the contributions of sponsors, partners, and participants. The opening session also featured interactive activities designed to encourage audience engagement and knowledge sharing.

Aziz Kassamali, Founder of BogoLiv, delivered a keynote address highlighting the role of individual initiative in driving national economic growth. He outlined BogoLiv’s efforts to support Pakistani businesses in expanding their global footprint.
Ali Naqi Rizvi, Senior Technical Consultant at Teradata and Co-Manager of GDG Islamabad, presented a detailed session on Gemini 3.0, outlining its advanced AI capabilities in reasoning, automation, and content creation. He demonstrated how the model functions as an agentic AI system capable of managing complex, multi-step workflows.

Daniyal Khalid, Software Engineer at Google, introduced Google Antigravity, an AI-powered development platform focused on building reliable and trustworthy AI agents. His session emphasized structured workflows, verification mechanisms, and trust architecture to improve consistency and reliability in AI-assisted development.
Mahnoor Salman, Co-founder and Senior AI Engineer at atomcamp, discussed the growing adoption of AI in education and research, highlighting how tools such as NotebookLM are enhancing learning through summarization, multilingual support, and adaptive knowledge workflows.
From Innovation to Production
Shajeel Afzal, Founder of UpAlerts, addressed the process of transforming AI ideas into production-ready applications. He highlighted structured development approaches, starter templates, and Model Context Protocols (MCPs) as key enablers for rapid AI product deployment.
Mughees Awan, Data Scientist at Teradata, presented insights on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications, demonstrating how organizations can deploy multimodal AI solutions for internal and enterprise use cases.
Security, Evaluation, and Ethical AI
Marium Aslam, Google Developer Expert (AI, Firebase & Google Cloud), addressed challenges related to hallucinations, prompt injection, and model security. She emphasized the importance of comprehensive testing frameworks to ensure safe, reliable, and responsible AI deployments.
In a panel discussion on Synthetic Truth and Digital Responsibility, Imran Ghazali, Founder & CEO of Optimize Digital, and Aiman Rafiq, Program Manager at Mobilink, discussed the implications of AI-generated content and the need for verification, accountability, and ethical oversight in the digital age.
Workshops, Networking, and Community Building
A parallel workshop titled “Zero Syntax, Just Vibes”, led by Ibrahim Khan, Product Designer at Arbisoft, focused on using AI and design thinking to build products without complex coding.
The event concluded with networking sessions and participant engagement activities, fostering collaboration across Pakistan’s developer and technology community.
