Babar Azam, the renowned cricket figure and former Pakistan captain, recently embarked on a spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia, following his participation in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9. After completing the Umrah pilgrimage during the holy month of Ramadan, Babar Azam proceeded to Madina to pay homage at the Prophet’s Mosque, the second holiest site in Islam.
Sharing his experience with his followers on Instagram, Babar Azam posted a video of himself performing ablution in front of the Green Dome, a significant symbol atop the Prophet Muhammad’s grave within the mosque premises. In his caption, Babar expressed deep reverence for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), referring to him as “The Orphan who adopted the world.”
As Muslims worldwide observe Ramadan, many undertake the journey to Makkah and Madina to perform Umrah and seek spiritual fulfillment. Babar Azam also had the privilege of performing Umrah and shared a snapshot of himself standing before the Holy Kaaba in Makkah.
Notably, other cricketers such as Naseem Shah and Imamul Haq are also present in Saudi Arabia for the same purpose. Babar Azam shared Imam’s image in front of the Holy Kaaba on his Instagram stories, along with a subsequent snapshot featuring himself, his brother, and Imam dressed in ihram attire before performing Umrah.
