The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has announced the Class 9th exam results. A total of 287,000 candidates appeared for the exams, with 127,000 successfully passing. Unfortunately, 159,000 students did not clear the exams, resulting in an overall pass rate of 44%, which is a 6% decline from last year. In Multan, the Class 9th results show a pass percentage of 49.48%, with 69,169 out of 139,786 students passing the exams. Australia is intensifying its efforts to assist Pakistan in combating human trafficking through a new phase of support. The latest initiative aims to strengthen crucial systems and provide specialized training for investigators. Pakistan Railways has announced the restoration of the Sir Syed Express (35UP/36DN) train service between Karachi Cantonment and Rawalpindi, effective September 1, under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). The Sir Syed Express (35UP) will depart from Karachi Cantonment at 9:00 PM, making stops at Hyderabad, Khanpur, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Sangla Hill, Wazirabad, Gujrat, and Jhelum, before arriving in Rawalpindi at 8:55 PM the following day. The Ministry of Power Division announced on Thursday that consumers will receive a 77 paisa relief in their electricity tariff for the billing month of August, compared to July. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification regarding the Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) for June. According to the statement, the FCA for July was set at Rs 3.33 per unit. However, for the billing month of August, the FCA will be further reduced to Rs 2.56 per unit, providing consumers with additional relief.
Arshad Nadeem ended Pakistan’s long Olympic drought in spectacular fashion on Thursday by winning the men’s javelin final at the 2024 Paris Olympics with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters.
