Empowering Graduates in Fisheries and Aquaculture
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced a new internship program targeting graduates in Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Zoology. The six-month training, held at the Fisheries Department’s shrimp farm in Muzaffargarh, offers hands-on experience in shrimp farming and a monthly stipend of 50,000 rupees. This initiative is designed to equip young professionals with practical skills for a growing industry.
Economic Vision for Shrimp Farming in South Punjab
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the economic potential of shrimp farming, stating that cultivating 100,000 acres for shrimp could generate over a billion dollars in revenue. She envisions converting barren lands in South Punjab into productive farming areas, which would help boost Pakistan’s foreign exchange earnings while meeting global shrimp demand
