Historic Direct Maritime Trade Route Launched
In a landmark development, the first-ever direct cargo vessel from Karachi Port reached Chittagong Port in Bangladesh on Wednesday. This new route establishes a direct maritime trade link between Pakistan and Bangladesh, opening avenues for faster and more efficient trade. The vessel, with a 2,300 TEU capacity, carried a variety of goods, showcasing the rising demand for direct trade.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Syed Ahmed Maroof, praised the initiative, calling it a significant stride in enhancing trade ties and regional connectivity. He expressed hope for the establishment of regular shipping services between the two nations, emphasizing that this could further boost business, economic, and social relations, marking a new chapter in Pakistan-Bangladesh trade
