Pakistan’s Directorate General of Immigration and Passports DGI&P had recently declared a new policy change. Pakistani passport applicants can now apply from anywhere in the country. Earlier, the applicant had to travel to the regional passport office in their hometown to submit the application.
This is a part of the DGI&P’s continued efforts towards modernizing and streamlining immigration and passport services. Along with this, the Directorate has been integrating technology into its operations, such as facilities for online applications and fee payments. It aims to provide the public with a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
This new system will avoid overloading certain regional offices and hence reduce long queues for passport issuance. The DGI&P has encouraged citizens to use all the online applications and check the status of their passports on the communication channels for Directorate.
