KARACHI – In a big move for parents, the Sindh government has decreed that all private schools can collect only admission and monthly tuition fees and not take anything else. The new decree is part of an overall effort to reduce the financial burden on families with children in private education who face increasing costs.
A notice issued by the Directorate of Private Institutions called upon parents to inform it if any school is found violating this rule so that the government will act sternly against a defaulting institution. The move has come in response to increasing demands over these skyrocketing fees that have put many families in complicated financial quandaries. The ever-increasing cost of living and stagnating wages mean that most parents have had to tighten their belts just to keep up with these exorbitant fees; thus, they have been forced to sacrifice their needs to give their children a quality education.
The new regulation, therefore, would make education accessible to every child in the province of Sindh, bringing relief to the parents and making quality education accessible to the children.
