In a bid to boost trade and investment between Pakistan and China, major Business-to-Business (B2B) events focusing on the leather and fisheries sectors are scheduled to take place in key Chinese cities. The road shows will be held on October 29 in Qingdao and November 5 in Guangzhou, with significant participation from prominent Pakistani companies.
A total of 30 representatives from 17 fisheries companies and 16 executives from 10 institutions involved in the leather industry will represent Pakistan at these road shows, signaling a strong push to expand exports and partnerships. The initiative was discussed in a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan.
Integrated Strategy for Business Expansion
Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted that the Board of Investment (BOI) is following a comprehensive strategy aimed at fostering collaboration between Pakistani and Chinese business enterprises. He emphasized that these global road shows would enable the Pakistani business community to gain access to American and European markets, with leather, textiles, medical and surgical equipment, fruits and vegetables, plastics, fisheries, and animal food identified as key sectors of focus.
The minister also underscored the importance of increasing Pakistan’s participation in the transfer of industries from China, noting that 168 Chinese companies and 78 Pakistani firms are already working together under mutual cooperation.
Enhancing Business Cooperation for Economic Growth
Khan reiterated that the government is committed to providing all possible support to boost business partnerships with China, which remains a priority for Pakistan’s economic growth. He praised the efforts of Pakistani embassies in China for their role in promoting business ties and ensuring smooth participation in the upcoming events.
Senior officials, including the Federal Secretary for the Board of Investment and officers from the Pakistani Embassy in China, gave an online briefing during the meeting, further detailing the preparations for the road shows. The executives of leading Pakistani organizations assured their full participation, reflecting a strong commitment to strengthening B2B activities and establishing joint ventures with Chinese enterprises.
A Path to Economic Revival
These road shows are expected to open up new opportunities for Pakistani businesses, allowing them to forge valuable partnerships in China. The minister urged Pakistani companies to capitalize on these events, as increased cooperation with China could lead to a significant boost for the country’s economy.
Through these strategic initiatives, Pakistan aims to leverage its industries to secure a larger share in international markets, ultimately contributing to the nation’s economic revival.
