In a significant step to enhance tourism and attract foreign investment, the Pakistani government has implemented a visa-free entry policy for travelers from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Under this new policy, citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can now enter Pakistan without a visa and stay for up to 90 days.
The directive has been issued to immigration authorities at all airports nationwide to ensure the smooth implementation of this policy. In addition, travelers from 120 other countries will be granted entry under a visa grant notice.
On July 8, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the government had introduced comprehensive visa reforms to facilitate foreign investors, the business community, and tourists. He emphasized that these measures would promote tourism, boost foreign investment, and increase trade activities in the country.
The visa reforms also include an online system that will issue visas within 24 hours to businessmen, investors, and tourists from 126 countries. Additionally, visa fees will be waived for traders and tourists from these countries, making Pakistan an even more attractive destination for business and tourism.
