The Lahore Arts Council Alhamra is taking a bold step to revive and advance theatre arts in Pakistan with the launch of a nationwide Theatre Festival. This initiative targets schools, colleges, and universities, aiming to rekindle the golden era of theatre and cultivate a new generation of artists.
Alhamra Executive Director Sarah Rashid emphasized the festival’s importance in rejuvenating the theatre scene. “The Alhamra is committed to restoring the grandeur of theatre by providing a platform for emerging talent. This festival is about more than just performances; it’s about finding and nurturing future actors, directors, writers, and producers who will continue the legacy of theatre,” she stated.
The Theatre Festival invites all educational institutions across Pakistan to participate. Schools, colleges, and universities are encouraged to submit their scripts by August 31. This initiative reflects Alhamra’s dedication to nurturing artistic talent at every educational level and ensuring the continued vibrancy of Pakistan’s cultural landscape.
