At the opening of the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan commended Pakistan’s media for its supportive role, proposing a joint media initiative to enhance cooperation and address misinformation. He described the support from Pakistan’s media as “brotherly” and “friendly.”
Aliyev suggested forming a joint media working group to promote mutual understanding and combat misleading narratives, aiming to leverage international media access to improve the reputation of both nations. His remarks followed a successful state visit to Pakistan, which led to 17 signed agreements covering investment, trade, defense, and collaboration between the two countries.
The forum will address topics such as disinformation, media literacy, and the impact of artificial intelligence. Over 150 foreign guests from 50 countries, including news agencies, international organizations, and media entities, will participate in discussions and exchanges at the event.
