Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandukhail stressed the necessity of a comprehensive strategy for the social and economic security of all women and the importance of teaching them modern skills to keep pace with the latest developments worldwide.
He shared these views during a meeting with women delegations from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) at Governor House Quetta. The PPP Kalat Division delegation was led by Rabia Khawajakhail, while the PML-N delegation was led by Syeda Sajida.
The Governor noted that with the increasing political and economic role of women, it is evident that the 21st century is the century of women, marked by significant progress in women’s rights and opportunities across all areas of life.
He highlighted that women globally hold important positions at national and international levels and acknowledged the talent and sociability of Balochistan’s women. Despite their skills, the lack of necessary facilities and proper opportunities has hindered their progress.
Governor Mandukhail praised women for breaking traditional barriers in science, technology, and engineering, thereby contributing to economic development through their participation in human resources in Balochistan.
He underscored the need for women to pursue non-traditional careers for economic independence and called for a public awareness campaign to elevate the dignity and status of women.
In separate meetings with the delegations, the Governor listened to their concerns and assured full support for protecting women’s rights and addressing their issues.
