The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced the onset of monsoon rains across multiple regions of the country, beginning today and continuing until July 16. Monsoon winds originating from the Arabian Sea are expected to bring rainfall to Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Punjab, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The PMD predicts substantial precipitation during this period and advises residents and local authorities to remain vigilant and prepared for possible weather-related disruptions.
From July 11 to 15, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan will also experience rainy conditions. Additionally, certain parts of Balochistan are forecasted to receive showers from July 12 to 14, contributing to the overall impact of the monsoon season.
Sindh regions including Sukkur, Larkana, and Jacobabad are likely to experience thunderstorms and rain on July 12 and 13. These areas, known for their typically dry climate, will be significantly influenced by the incoming wet weather.
Authorities have urged residents in all affected areas to stay informed about the latest weather updates and to take necessary precautions to ensure safety and mitigate potential damage during the monsoon period.
