KPK Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced the opening of bone marrow and liver transplant centers as a proactive step toward improving healthcare services for the people at the provincial level. This is the province’s first-ever government-level program of its sort. At the discussion, it was determined that the liver transplant center would first be established at the Institute of Kidney Diseases in Peshawar, with the intention of moving it to Khyber Medical University’s newly constructed building in the future.
At the conference, it was also decided to create the province’s first Institute of Neurosurgery, which will be located in Fountain House in Peshawar. Chief Minister Gandapur directed the concerned authorities to complete detailed plans that include all the information needed for these facilities and institute, including staffing, funding, medical supplies, and organizational framework.
Chief Minister Gandapur reaffirmed the government’s unflinching commitment to develop liver and bone marrow transplant facilities locally, emphasizing that once these centers are in place, residents of the province won’t need to travel elsewhere for these services. He added encouraged authorities to take the required actions to introduce dialysis services in hospitals lacking this provision and to guarantee the availability of round-the-clock dialysis services in all government hospitals where this facility already exists.
Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized that the healthcare industry is a top priority for his government and promised to use all resources at his disposal to provide the province’s residents with high-quality healthcare services. He was quite clear that the plans had to cover every aspect of the centers, including staffing, funding, supplies, and organizational setup. In addition, the chief minister gave them instructions to create workable financial strategies so that these facilities could be operated sustainably.
