Osman Faryad, the Pakistani volleyball player also known as Shani, has earned the title of Most Valuable Player in the 13th week of the Iranian League. Playing as an outside hitter for Hoorsun Ramsar, the 24-year-old showcased an impressive performance, scoring 27 points against Eefa Ceram Ardakan and securing a spot in the Team of the Week for match week 16.
Shani, a key member of the Asian Games squad that achieved a historic fifth place after defeating India 3-0, played a crucial role in reaching the top 6 positions for the first time since 1994.
In addition to Shani, Musawer Khan, another Pakistani volleyball player, is representing Hoorsun Ramsar, while Pakistan’s captain, Aimal Khan, is featuring for Eafa Ceram Ardakan in the current season. Despite political tensions between Iran and Pakistan, the players, bound by their contracts, cannot leave the country until March 2024.
