Shehroze Kashif, a 21-year-old climbing sensation from Pakistan, has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming one of the youngest mountaineers to conquer 13 out of the 14 highest peaks. His latest accomplishment was reaching the summit of Tibet’s Cho Oyu, the sixth highest mountain in the world. This achievement places Kashif in an elite group of mountaineers who have scaled 13 peaks over 8,000 meters. He now stands just one summit away from joining the exclusive club of climbers who have conquered all 14 of these towering peaks.
Kashif’s triumphant ascent of Cho Oyu in Tibet took place at 3 am on a Thursday, showcasing his tenacity and exceptional climbing skills as he navigated challenging terrain and extreme conditions. His achievement aligns him with other accomplished Pakistani climbers, including Serbaz Khan from Hunza, who has also summited 13 of the 14 peaks.
Notably, Pakistani women climbers are also making significant strides in the world of mountaineering, with Nayla Kyani currently pursuing the goal of conquering all 14 mountains exceeding 8,000 meters. Additionally, Sajid Sadpara, the son of the late legendary climber Ali Sadpara, has summited eight of the highest mountains without oxygen and aims to reach six more to achieve a similar distinction.
