At the 2023 Qatar Open Taekwondo Championship in Doha, 11-year-old Syed Abdul Hadi Jafri from Karachi, Pakistan, showcased an outstanding performance. Competing in the -36 kg children category, Hadi clinched a well-deserved silver medal in a field of 20 participants from various countries.
Hadi’s journey to the silver medal included several tough matches. He began by defeating a competitor from Saudi Arabia in the first bout, followed by a victory against a contestant from Qatar.
In the quarter-finals, he triumphed over an opponent from Bahrain, and in the semi-finals, he secured a win against a competitor from Oman, earning him a place in the final.
Despite his exceptional efforts, Hadi narrowly missed the gold medal in the final, where he was defeated by an opponent from Bahrain by just a 2-point margin.
Throughout his journey, Hadi received invaluable support from his team, including his team manager, Faraz Jafri, his coach, Bilal Mateen, and the Head of Team, Syed Abdul Rehman Shah.
