Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Mr. Zaka Ashraf, extended a warm welcome to the triumphant Pakistan Blind Cricket team and their officials at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The occasion was a celebration of their remarkable achievement, securing a Gold medal at the 2023 International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games in Birmingham.
The Pakistan Blind cricket team showcased extraordinary skills and resilience throughout the tournament, notably defeating arch-rivals India twice on their path to becoming champions. In the T20 format, they maintained an unbeaten record, triumphing over India, Bangladesh, Australia, and England, ultimately securing the Gold by convincingly defeating India once more, winning by eight wickets on August 26, 2023.
As a token of appreciation and to motivate the team and officials for their ongoing dedication to the sport, Mr. Zaka Ashraf presented each player and official with a cheque for PKR three hundred thousand.
