The Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) has announced plans to construct three major underground water storage tanks in Faisalabad to manage rainwater more effectively. During a meeting on Monday, Deputy Managing Director Engineering WASA, Saqib Raza, outlined the agency’s comprehensive strategy for the swift removal of rainwater from city areas.
The three underground tanks will be built near Dijkot Road, Tata Bazaar Factory Area, and Iqbal Stadium. These tanks are designed to capture and store rainwater, which will later be used for irrigation in various parks.
Saqib Raza also reviewed ongoing projects under the Annual Development Program, noting that the pace of these projects would be accelerated following the release of funds. Additionally, there will be upgrades to WASA’s disposal stations.
The meeting was attended by Director P&D WASA Hafiz Hassan Nasir, Director Construction Usman Lateef, and other key officials including Ali Ahmad Gill, Deputy Directors Sanwal Malik, Nauman Noor, Furqan Haidar, Hayat Randhawa, and Faizan Shakoor.
