On December 31, 2023, the Pakistan Road Runner (PRR) organization hosted the Sohail Memorial Ultra Marathon Race, spanning a challenging 53km route from Islamabad to Murree.
Eight participants, including 6 men and 2 women, took on the race, with Umaira Sheraz, a committed Lady Cop from Islamabad Police, making history with a groundbreaking achievement. Umaira Sheraz, running alongside her team, completed the 53km Ultra Marathon in an impressive 6 hours, 47 minutes, and 51 seconds, conquering a substantial elevation of 2104 meters.
This exceptional performance not only sets a new record in Pakistan’s Ultra Marathon history but also establishes Umaira as the first and youngest female athlete to accomplish this remarkable feat. Beyond her athletic achievements, Umaira serves as a motivational speaker, aiming to inspire, educate, and instill a deeper sense of purpose in future leaders.
