Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced on Monday that the 350MW Jhampir Wind and Solar Hybrid project will be completed within 15 months.
The provincial Energy Minister chaired a meeting with the Energy Department where Tariq Ali Shah (MD TCEB), Imtiaz Ali Shah (MD SEECA), Saleem Ahmed Sheikh (CEO STDC), Tariq Saeed (Sr. GM STDC), and other officers were present.
During the briefing, it was disclosed that the project will supply affordable electricity to the industries of Sindh with the installation of 36 wind turbines, each generating 7MW of electricity.
The minister revealed that the project is estimated to cost Rs.120.865 billion, with the electricity generated costing Rs.18.45 billion.
Nasir Shah emphasized the urgency of commencing the project and mentioned plans to discuss it with the CM Sindh this week. He highlighted the benefits to the industry from the supply of cheap electricity through this project.
