Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has unveiled another traffic initiative shortly after inaugurating the Akbar Chowk Flyover. Lahore Development Authority (LDA) transformed the 6.5-kilometer Shahra-e-Nazria Pakistan into a signal-free corridor, with the inauguration attended by Naqvi, DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed, and senior officials.
The project features seven protected U-turns aimed at addressing traffic issues on the bustling highway.
Emphasizing environmental sensitivity, officials assured that no trees were cut during the construction. Commending the LDA team for completing the project ahead of schedule, CM Naqvi highlighted its time and resource efficiency.
In a cabinet meeting, the caretaker CM approved a significant hike in the driving license fee, raising it from Rs. 60 to Rs. 1,000. Additionally, foreign citizens, including those from the U.S. and Canada, can obtain their driving licenses online for a fee of $100. The developments align with ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and streamline administrative processes in Punjab.
